Stress Management


Stress is the epidemic of the 21stC and impacts people’s lives in a myriad of ways. Life has become more fast-paced and demanding, with more demanding jobs and social responsibilities.

As materialism is on the rise, so has our cost of living. All these factors combined naturally bring certain levels of stress, for some more than others. It is a well-known fact that emotions are displayed in a physical manner whether it is shown through our facial expressions or through health conditions created by stress. The best way to manage these situations is to understand the root cause of the problem that manifests itself physically in one way or the other.

Scientific studies have proven that health conditions can be caused or worsened by stress, anger, depression and other emotional states for kids and adults of all ages. While medications can help offset some of the side effects and reduce the symptoms, it is only by dealing with the underlying psychological factors that health will start to improve and the individual will be better on a long-term basis. Everyone struggles in their own unique way which could range from stress induced overeating, anger issues which increase blood pressure, or depression related lethargy. Learning to manage stress levels in our demanding and hectic world today is the ultimate goal.

Hissah Enrichment Center has a range of stress management workshops and presentations to offer that provide the insight, practical tools, and strategies that are needed to lower stress and build resilience to achieve balance, fulfillment and success. This workshop takes a multimodal approach to managing stress, considering how it impacts one’s behavior, emotions, body sensations, imagery, thinking, relationships and physical well-being. Techniques will be introduced to address each of these modalities and will include the use of biofeedback (including the highly regarded HeartMath system).
