Diversity & Dignity

Dr. Donna Hicks has worked for years on the concept of dignity in relationships and has written the ground-breaking book “Dignity: The Essential Role It Plays in Resolving Conflict”.

Dignity is an essential human need and part of a fruitful relationship. When there is conflict in any of our close relationships – be it professional or personal – we find that our life becomes more complicated and messy. Stress levels rise and we find that we can’t focus on anything properly. On the other hand, when all our relationships are going smoothly, we find ourselves more productive and overall happier.

The presence of dignity allows for deeper connections and more meaningful relationships, while the lack of it can oftentimes lead to violence and aggression. There seems to be a great lack of understanding of the concept of dignity, which many times is the actual root of the issue in a conflicted relationship.

Hissah Enrichment Center brings to you a one-of-a-kind experience which is a workshop facilitated exclusively by Dr. Donna Hicks of Harvard University. In this workshop, Hicks explains what the elements of dignity are, how to recognize dignity violations, how to respond when we are not treated with dignity, how dignity can restore a broken relationship, why leaders must understand the concept of dignity, and more. One-to-one and group follow-up sessions are available upon special request.
