Child Safety

The Internet has become a very major part of our lives and the lives of our families. It is how we stay in touch, stay connected, know what is going on around the world, and is a large part of our communication.

As adults, we are aware to a certain extent of the ways in which the Internet can be misused. Children and Teenagers, however, do not.

Child sexual exploitation occurs in every economic, social, ethnic, and religious group. With the explosion of the Internet into a powerful, worldwide medium, the danger to children has drastically increased. Never in history have sexual predators been given such an opportunity to communicate so freely and directly with children. All children are at risk of being victimized online. Many parents think that since their child is happy, active, doing well in school etc. they are not at risk of anything of this sort happening to them – but this is not true. All teenagers are vulnerable and curious, some more than others, therefore they are all at risk of being lured by the very experienced and clever predators.

At Hissah Enrichment Center, our core concern is the safety of our children. We realize the difficulties parents face in keeping their children out of harms’ way in a time when there is such open and easy access to just about everything dangerous and bad thing out there. The aim of this service is to help parents, professionals and those working with children to gain awareness of the complex issues that young people face online, who is most at risk, what warning signs to look out for, how you can help and monitor, and the many challenges that we have to protect and educate them. We provide information, support and guidance to help you review, and make decisions for whatever context you are in.
