Youth Leadership

Leadership is a concept that has been there since the beginning of time. Our world history is full of accounts of how the leader of a certain time and place lead his or her followers towards triumph and success or towards destruction or despair.

Most simply defined, a leader is one who guides a group of people in pursuit of some goal, destination, or outcome. Fundamentally, the job of the leader is to motivate, inspire, and most of all guide people towards the desired goal or outcome. Now, this is a great responsibility and huge task – no matter how small the group and/or goal.

What qualities come to mind when you think of a leader? Integrity, patience, confidence, passion, honesty – to name just a few. We, at HEC, value and appreciate all these qualities and are very proud and passionate about our world class leadership training programs. We look forward to helping youth and adults develop an awareness of their capabilities as leaders for the betterment of themselves, their families, schools and their broader communities.

If you do a google search on “leadership training”, you will come across over 100 million hits of all kinds of programs, workshops, lectures, courses, plans etc. This is because today in our competitive corporate world, it is vital to be a leader in order to move forward. Understanding the roles, responsibilities, and traits of a true leader and working hard in adopting them is the ultimate goal as it is the pathway to success. At HEC, we have innovative, participatory programming, through which students gain an awareness of their inner strength and how they can leverage this source of power to enhance and impact their lives and their surrounding environment.

These leadership training workshops are for employees, managers, young adults, consultants, and basically anyone who wishes to understand and enhance their leadership qualities in all areas of life.

Pedagogy

Our Services

Pedagogy

Each and every one of us learns in a unique way. Some of us require visual aids in order to grasp a concept like a video or pictures, while others simply can listen to a lecture and fully understand and absorb the topic through their auditory system.

Some people, like children, learn best through movement and play, using their body and kinesthetic sense. Lastly, there are those who learn best by tactile touch and practically completing a task hands on. Whichever method, or combination of methods, that you learn the most efficiently is best known by you yourself.

Pedagogy is the discipline that deals with the theory and practice of education; it thus concerns the study of how best to teach. As every individual learns differently, and these different learning styles are often not catered to in a busy classroom setting. It is not possible, with the normal teacher-student ratio for each student to be individually monitored and instructed according to their preferred learning style. Learning support programs normally aim at helping students with learning differences be successful in a normal academic program as well as increase the student’s skill levels.

At Hissah Enrichment Center, this service is designed to help students excel academically. The aim of our learning support programs and self-development activities is to increase student academic performance through individualized diagnostic, prescriptive, and instructive educational plans. We provide learning style assessment and counseling, multimedia resources to support student learning, as well as workshops and seminars on student learning.

We remain students our entire lives, even when we have left the traditional schooling environment. We are always in a position to learn something new, and therefore it is never too late to fully optimize your learning style. Pay a visit to Hissah Enrichment Center, and see how our pedagogy and learning support programs can benefit you whether you are a student or a professional.

Child Safety

Our Services

Child Safety

The Internet has become a very major part of our lives and the lives of our families. It is how we stay in touch, stay connected, know what is going on around the world, and is a large part of our communication.

As adults, we are aware to a certain extent of the ways in which the Internet can be misused. Children and Teenagers, however, do not.

Child sexual exploitation occurs in every economic, social, ethnic, and religious group. With the explosion of the Internet into a powerful, worldwide medium, the danger to children has drastically increased. Never in history have sexual predators been given such an opportunity to communicate so freely and directly with children. All children are at risk of being victimized online. Many parents think that since their child is happy, active, doing well in school etc. they are not at risk of anything of this sort happening to them – but this is not true. All teenagers are vulnerable and curious, some more than others, therefore they are all at risk of being lured by the very experienced and clever predators.

At Hissah Enrichment Center, our core concern is the safety of our children. We realize the difficulties parents face in keeping their children out of harms’ way in a time when there is such open and easy access to just about everything dangerous and bad thing out there. The aim of this service is to help parents, professionals and those working with children to gain awareness of the complex issues that young people face online, who is most at risk, what warning signs to look out for, how you can help and monitor, and the many challenges that we have to protect and educate them. We provide information, support and guidance to help you review, and make decisions for whatever context you are in.
