Peacebuilding

Peacebuilding is defined as a process that facilitates the establishment of durable peace and tries to prevent the recurrence of violence by addressing root causes and effects of conflict through reconciliation, institution building, and political as well as economic transformation.

We live in troubled times, where coexistence and tolerance is at an all-time low. Conflicts between individuals and groups are at the forefront and ineffective methods of reconciliation seem to lead towards violence and bloodshed more than anything else. The future of our world lies in the hands of our younger generation, who are the leaders of tomorrow. Solving the conflicts of the world today with incompetent leaders, bad policies, and intolerance is not possible but what is possible is working on equipping our younger generation with the values, concepts, beliefs, tools, and skills to be the very best leaders and peacebuilders to ensure a safer and more peaceful world in the future.

Growing up in a world of globalization, young people today have more power, know-how, and connections than any previous generation. With this to offer, young people are brought together and introduced to the field of international peacebuilding. Supported by a Hissah expert, they are encouraged to form teams and to start, execute and complete peacebuilding projects of their own creation within a set time frame.

This service is especially formulated to cater to young adults who wish to work towards the greater good and be future leaders and peacebuilders.
